What do you want? Seriously, what exactly do you want?

Do you know what exactly you want? Answer this question:

“All I want is ___________, by (date).”

if you can’t answer this in less than 30 seconds, that means your dream and aspiration is still unclear.

The first step in achieving any kind of dreams and goals is to pinpoint exactly what you want. Whether it be financial goal or personal goal, how can you achieve anything if you don’t even have a clear target?

Recently I’ve experienced a burnout. I know exactly what I want, but the goal seems so far away that I am not sure if it is even achievable.

To get over the burnout, I reminded myself: Why do I want to achieve this in the first place? To do that, I started answering this question:

“All I want is ___________, by (date), because (reasons)so that (desired results).”

the answers to ‘because…‘ and ‘so that…‘ become my driving force and my fuel to keep me going in time of desperation.

Here is what mines look like:

All I want is financial freedom (to be defined), by September 6 of 2020,

  • because I am the provider for my family;
  • because I am sick and tired of being dependent on only one source of income;
  • because I am sick and tired of being tied down by financial burdens and obligations (i.e. car loans, mortgage debt, etc);
  • because life is short and I want to experience it fully while it last.

All I want is financial freedom (to be defined), by September 6 of 2020,

  • so that we can travel comfortably around the world whenever we want, to wherever we want;
  • so that we can spend more time with loved ones and with families;
  • so that we will be free to do whatever we want at our own time and leisure.

Now, its your turn to answer these two questions:

All I want is _________, by (date), because______.

All I want is _________, by (date), so that _______.
